Samvidhan Divas | Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26 honoring the people who structure the Constitution of India. This signifies the historic day when the Constituent Assembly, entrusted with drafting the law of the land, adopted India’s constitution on 26 November 1949. It is also known as “National Law Day“, is celebrated in India every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar is known as the father of Indian constitution. On 29 August 1947, the Constituent Assembly set up a Drafting Committee. This Drafting Committee was headed by Ambedkar. Dr BR Ambedkar, as the chairman of its Drafting Committee, is considered the chief architect of the Indian Constitution which provides a comprehensive and dynamic framework to guide and govern the country, keeping in view her unique social, cultural and religious diversity. In 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted to the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
The Government of India declared 26 November as Constitution Day on 19 November 2015 by a gazette notification. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi made the declaration on 11 October 2015 while laying the foundation stone of the B.R. Ambedkar’s Statue of Equality memorial in Mumbai.
संविधान दिवस 2023: भारत 26 नवंबर को भारत के संविधान की संरचना करने वाले लोगों का सम्मान करते हुए संविधान दिवस या संविधान दिवस मना रहा है। यह उस ऐतिहासिक दिन का प्रतीक है जब संविधान सभा ने, जिसे देश के कानून का मसौदा तैयार करने का काम सौंपा गया था, 1949 में भारत के संविधान को अपनाया था।
Originally, the Constitution of India consisted of the Preamble and 395 Articles, which were adopted on 26 November 1949. After several constitutional amendments, the updated Constitution of India consists of the Preamble and 448 articles.
